Role Description The Residential Journeyman Electrician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Cypress, TX. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing residential electrical systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code and company standards. The role involves rough-in and trim work for new construction and remodels, setting up lighting control systems, structured wiring for low-voltage systems, and supporting custom audio/video installations. The electrician will diagnose electrical issues, perform troubleshooting and testing, and ensure all work is safe, compliant, and completed on schedule. This position also includes reading and interpreting plans, coordinating with project managers and other trades, and maintaining clear, professional communication with clients and partners. Qualifications Strong foundation in electricity and practical electrical work skills, including safe handling and installation of residential electrical systems. Experience with maintenance & repair and troubleshooting of wiring, panels, circuits, lighting, and related residential components. Understanding of electrical engineering principles as they apply to residential installations, system design, and load calculations. Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician license (or ability to obtain), and thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code and local regulations. Proven ability to read blueprints and technical drawings, follow project specifications, and work efficiently in new construction and remodel settings. Commitment to safety practices, quality workmanship, and maintaining organized, clean job sites. Effective communication skills, reliability, and the ability to collaborate with builders, designers, and other trades.
