IT Helpdesk Support Technician Temp

Overview Temporary IT Helpdesk Support Technician (Contract) at Ontic’s Creedmoor, NC facility. The role is an immediate temporary assignment anticipated to last up to two months, with potential extension based on business needs. The technician will support the IT team in a highly regulated, mission‑critical aerospace and defense environment. Responsibilities Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for desktops, laptops, ruggedized systems, and peripheral devices in secure facilities. Maintain, update, and record tickets using ServiceDesk. Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues in compliance with IT security policies. Install, configure, and maintain Windows‑based systems according to cybersecurity and regulatory requirements. Support Microsoft 365 (or secure enterprise equivalents), engineering applications, and specialized defense software. Assist with user account provisioning, access controls, and Active Directory management. Document system changes in accordance with ITAR, NIST, CMMC, or other applicable compliance frameworks. Deploy and support systems within classified or controlled‑access environments when authorized. Perform patch management, antivirus updates, and endpoint security monitoring. Escalate incidents following established incident‑response and security procedures. Support audits and compliance checks by maintaining accurate technical records. Qualifications U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience). Strong computer troubleshooting and application/user support skills. Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple projects. Excellent communication skills with ability to convey technical information to all levels of management and staff. Self‑starter with strong organizational skills. Foundational knowledge of Windows operating systems and hardware troubleshooting. Awareness of cybersecurity best practices and strict adherence to security protocols.
