Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Software Engineer – Level 5 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Huntsville, AL. Position Overview: The selected Staff Software Engineer will support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the Automated Test and Verification (ATV) Team. This role is responsible for providing technical contributions and guidance to modeling and simulation products that directly support the design and development of the GWS capability on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 12 years of related experience, or a Master’s STEM degree and 10 years of experience, or a PhD and 8 years of experience. Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - software design requirements, application development, integration, testing, and deployment Professional experience development using Python or similar languages Experience developing technical solutions in collaboration with multiple product teams Experience in software development related to Test Automation Familiarity with Agile software development using tools like Jira, Confluence, Fisheye/Crucible, and Bitbucket Must possess good communication skills Capable of working both independently and within team environments Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs. Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start; with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance. Must be able to work in office, on site Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working Test Automation on GMD or GWS Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science discipline(s) Experience using Jenkins and Elasticsearch Experience as a team lead Experience in Agile/Scrum leadership roles such as Scrum Master or Product Owner Current Security+ certification Primary Level Salary Range: $169,000.00 - $253,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
