The schedule typically rotates between 7:30am-4pm, 8am-4:30pm and includes some weekends and Federal holidays. To address these challenges, we employ intelligent and committed staff who take care of our customers success as if it is their own./ph3Responsibilities/h3ulliDistribute supplies and materials from secondary inventory points to all areas serviced by Logistics, including both sterile and non-sterile medical supplies./liliScan, receive, store, and distribute medical and surgical supplies./liliClean and rotate expendable medical supplies and implants using first in, first out principles./liliMonitor expiration dates, rotate stock, and remove outdated or compromised items./liliPerform daily inventory using barcoding equipment and computerized inventory systems (e.g., GIP/VISTA/AbovePAR/ParEx)./liliUnpack, store, and organize supplies in accordance with guidelines to ensure sterility and data integrity./liliMaintain professional contact with clinical staff, logistics personnel, and external vendors./liliAddress supply issues, escalate unresolved matters to supervisors or Inventory Management Specialists./liliMaintain records on stock levels and recommend adjustments as needed./liliDeliver supplies to wards, clinics, operating rooms, warehouses, and other locations, including remote sites./liliPrepare and stock specialty carts as required./liliSupport wall-to-wall and periodic inventories./liliClean assigned areas according to aseptic principles and infection control guidelines./liliWear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and VA-provided identification badges./liliAdhere to all VA policies, including restrictions on personal electronic device use./li/ulh3Qualifications/h3ulliHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED)/liliMinimum 1 year of recent experience in medical supply processing, storage, and distribution/liliAbility to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently/liliKnowledge of sterile and unsterile medical supplies and equipment/liliPhysical ability to stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during work shift/liliFamiliarity with automated inventory management systems preferred/liliExperience with barcoding inventory control systems preferred/liliKnowledge of aseptic techniques and proper cleaning procedures/liliAbility to successfully pass a government background investigation/liliU.S. citizenship required/li/ulpAll candidates must be able to: Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift. Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist. Lift up to 20 lbs. Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
