Registered Nurse (RN): Med/Surg

Position Overview

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Medical/Surgical department. The position requires dedication to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Position Information

Role: RN
Number of Openings: 1
Shift: Night Shift (7 PM - 7:30 AM)
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
Weekend Hours: Rotating schedule every other weekend
Call Requirements: May be required based on census, including float assignments

Required Qualifications

Current and valid RN license in the state of employment
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Minimum of 1-2 years of Med/Surg experience
Pass a background check, including verification against the state's Abuse Registry before assignment start date

Unit Information

Number of Beds: 19
Patient Ratios: 1:5
Common Equipment: Welch Allyn vital machines, masimno at bedside, Careview telemetry, Sara Stedy and ARJO lift
Electronic Health Record (EHR): Medhost
Patient Population: Primarily geriatric and adult; limited pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care, including assessments, medication administration, and care plan execution.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition.
Floating to medical detox, ICU, OB, or ER as needed and handling low-level Med/Surg overflow patients in ICU with a patient ratio of 1:3.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and interventions.
