Speech Language Pathologist

Job Description: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Shift: Day Shift Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (91 Days) Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week Setting: Likely Long-Term Care / Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Position Overview The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides evaluation and treatment services to residents with communication disorders and swallowing (dysphagia) conditions , helping maximize independence and functional ability. The SLP works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver resident-centered care and optimize rehabilitation outcomes. Key Responsibilities Perform speech, language, and swallowing evaluations Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with: Clear long-term and short-term functional goals Defined treatment frequency and duration Provide therapy for: Communication disorders Dysphagia (including modified barium swallow studies) Monitor progress and modify care plans as needed Document all evaluations and treatments in accordance with standards Educate residents and caregivers on: Therapy techniques Use of communication and swallowing assistive devices Collaborate with: Physicians Nursing staff Rehabilitation team Participate in care conferences and interdisciplinary meetings Ensure compliance with: Medicare/Medicaid documentation requirements Infection control and safety protocols Administrative & Additional Duties Provide consultation and discharge recommendations Required Qualifications Education Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology Licensure & Certifications Active Speech Language Pathologist License Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required BLS (Basic Life Support) – preferred Experience Prior experience in: Long-Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) – preferred Required Skills Strong clinical skills in speech and swallowing therapy Excellent verbal and written communication Ability to: Work in interdisciplinary teams Make sound clinical decisions Strong documentation and time management skills Compassionate, resident-centered care approach Proficiency in Microsoft Office *Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
