Job Title: Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) – Retail Pharmacy
Location: Passaic County, New Jersey
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
We are seeking a customer-focused and driven Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead daily operations in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment. This full-time role is ideal for both new and experienced pharmacists who are ready to take on leadership responsibilities while delivering high-quality patient care and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all day-to-day retail pharmacy operations
- Ensure compliance with all federal, New Jersey state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations
- Accurately dispense prescriptions and provide patient counseling on medications, side effects, and proper usage
- Deliver outstanding customer service and build strong patient relationships
- Manage pharmacy workflow to ensure efficiency and minimal wait times
- Supervise, train, and support pharmacy technicians and support staff
- Maintain inventory, including ordering, stocking, and monitoring for expired medications
- Ensure proper handling and documentation of controlled substances
- Administer immunizations (if certified) and promote wellness services
- Resolve customer concerns and insurance-related issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy environment
Qualifications:
- Active Pharmacist license in the state of New Jersey in good standing
- No minimum years of experience required
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced retail setting
- Leadership potential and willingness to take initiative
- Knowledge of pharmacy software systems is a plus
Preferred (but not required):
- Immunization certification
- Familiarity with third-party billing/insurance processing
- Experience in a retail pharmacy setting
