Fortis College in Columbia, SC has a current opening for a Nursing Instructor. Fortis is affiliated withEducation Affiliates, a company with approximately 50 post-secondary schools nationwide, with over 20 of these locations offering nursing programs.These schools are known as Fortis College,Fortis Institute,Denver School of Nursing,and St. Paul’s School of Nursing. Our programs range from practical nursing toMSN degrees. Position Description: Nursing faculty are professionals with the education and practice skills topreparethe next generation of nurses. Faculty members are accountable to the Dean/Director of Nursing for the implementation of the approved curriculum based on the mission and philosophy of the nursing program and the College/Campus. They provide students with opportunities toacquiretheknowledge and practice the skillsidentifiedincourseobjectivesusing varied andappropriate teachingmethods. They plan learning activities to meet program outcomes based on the standards set by policies, legal and other regulatory requirements, and acceptable practice. Faculty alsoparticipateinthe program’s evaluation and continuous improvement process andengageinpersonal professional development. Requirements: Completion of an accreditedprofessional nursing education program. A current, active, unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the state of South Carolinaoramultistateprivilegeto practice in South Carolina. A master’s degree in nursing from an accredited program. Previous teaching experience preferred. Excellent written andverbalcommunicationskillsand analytical skills. Excellent teaching and classroom management skills Functional abilities to carry out classroom, clinical, and laboratory teaching responsibilities Competence in clinical skills in areas of teaching Competent in personal computer applications: word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email. Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screening,requiredimmunizations, current CPR and HIPAA certifications. Provides annual documentation of continuing professional growth at the employee’s expense.
