Job Description Job Title: Full‑Time School Nurse Location: Golden, Colorado Minimum 1+ years nursing experience required. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Full‑Time School Nurse to join our educational institution in Golden, CO. As a School Nurse, you will play a critical role in promoting and maintaining the health and well‑being of our students. Your expertise in healthcare management and your commitment to providing high‑quality care will contribute to creating a safe and nurturing environment for our school community. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care and emergency medical treatment to students and staff members. Assess and address the health needs of students, including administering medication, treating minor injuries, and managing chronic health conditions. Develop and maintain individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) for students with specific medical needs or conditions. Monitor and document student immunization records and ensure compliance with state and district health requirements. Conduct health screenings, such as vision and hearing tests, and assist with the coordination of dental and other health services. Educate students, parents, and staff on health‑related topics, including hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention. Maintain accurate and confidential health records and documentation, including incident reports and communication with healthcare providers. Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate first aid and emergency care. Qualifications Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Colorado. Minimum of two years of nursing experience, preferably in a pediatric, public health, or school setting. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certifications. Familiarity with common pediatric health conditions, medications, and medical procedures. Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities. Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems is desirable.
