LHH Recruitment Solutions is searching for a bookkeeper for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a client on the Southside of Richmond, Virginia. This role supports daily accounting, payroll, office administration, and client billing. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in QuickBooks Desktop, works independently, learns quickly, and manages competing priorities with accuracy.

Key responsibilities include:

• Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records and general ledgers
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchase orders, and client billing
• Prepare financial statements, budgets, bank reconciliations, and audit documentation
• Process biweekly payroll and occasional certified payroll reports
• Support tax filings, government licensing, and other compliance documents
• Complete client prequalification forms containing confidential company information
• Coordinate new-hire paperwork, benefits administration, and other office duties
• Communicate with clients to confirm billing requirements and methods, including AIA, Textura, GC Pay, and Procore

Qualifications:

• Strong, hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Payroll is required; QuickBooks Enterprise experience is preferred
• At least 5 years of office experience involving bookkeeping and customer service
• Experience with AIA billing, certified payroll, and purchase orders is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently, learn new systems quickly, and manage multiple priorities
• Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred but not required

Position details:

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Contract pay: $25$31 per hour, based on experience
• Permanent salary: $60,000$70,000 per year
• Reports directly to the owner
• Work environment: In-office industrial setting
