Roles & Responsibilities

• Help patients stretch and exercise specific muscle groups
• Read and implement instructions from Physical Therapist
• Collaborate directly with Physical Therapist to modify patient care
• Communicate with families to recommend at-home techniques
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the physical therapy area
• Assist patients with transfers from wheelchairs or walkers to therapy area
• Complete administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and filing paperwork
• Teach patients techniques including balance training

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist Assistant experience
• Experience in Long Term Care or Rehabilitation settings
• Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license
• Missouri state license or ability to obtain
• Willingness to work at the posted rate

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care and therapeutic exercise techniques
• Stretching and exercise therapy
• Assisting with physical therapy treatments
• Patient education and family communication
• Administrative and organizational skills
