JOB TITLE: Safety Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Safety Team

REPORTS TO: Safety Manager, Industrial PM, EXH PM

LOCATION: Taylor, TX

JOB OBJECTIVES

• The Safety Supervisor with strong leadership skills, ability to identify/mitigate risks and develop safety control programs for one of the most advanced semiconductor facilities in the United States. Opportunity to work as part of a diverse safety team to help strengthen safety culture and improve hazard awareness in the field.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage Contractor safety programs that engages employees, subcontractor and vendors at all levels.

• Develop hazard control designs, methods, procedures and programs to supplement the Contractor safety program.

• Lead and advise Contractor related risk assessment reviews and processes.

• Measure, audit and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard control elements.

• Review and audit pre-task plans, site risk analyses and standard operating procedures.

• Instruct safety related classes as necessary such as mobile elevated work platforms, LOTO, Fall protection, Electrical safety, etc.

• Time management spent in the field and working closely with Contractors, vendors, and field safety team personnel.

• Work with a dozen general and Subcontractor safety professionals to develop site improvement.

• Report safety issues, risks, and trends to the Team Manager and Project Manager, providing clear recommendations and escalation as needed.

• Coordinate and support HQ visits, ensuring clear, accurate, and timely communication of site safety performance and issues.

• Participate in daily, weekly or monthly Contractor and vendor meetings. Drive timely completion of investigations and corrective actions associated with incidents, near-miss incidents, and compliance inspections.

• Assist with the daily management of the tiered auditing program including closure of facility’s preventative and corrective action plans.

• Ensure records are maintained in compliance with internal, local, state, provincial, and federal EHS laws, regulations, permits and program

• Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Company

Qualifications/Requirements

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with all levels of personnel on site required.

• Minimum of 5 years of safety experience in construction, manufacturing and/or contractor management.

• Certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHST, SHEP, CSHO.

• OSHA 30, 510 Certifications.

• Extensive working knowledge of state and federal laws/regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DOT).

• Familiarity with hazardous materials, related regulations and NIOSH standards.

• Proficiency in MS Office Programs

• Proven trouble shooting mindset. The ability to anticipate, identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices associated with the Contractor safety program.

• Experience in designing programs and procedures that control, eliminate, and prevent injuries/illnesses and environmental incidents.

• Ability to anticipate, identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices associated with the Contractor safety program.

• Able to work early morning, night shifts

Desirable/Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, environmental science or safety science.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish

• Working knowledge of OHSAS 45001 and ISO 14001.

• Strong preference for experience at a semiconductor manufacturing (FAB) facility.

• Strong preference for experience in electrical substation construction and commissioning.

• Experience dealing with federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
