Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position requiring 5 years of experience and expertise in adult critical care and neonatal/pediatric respiratory care.

Details

• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
• Weekend work required, 7+ weekend shifts per month
• On-call required
• Floating required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience required, though new graduates will be considered
• RRT and BLS certifications required
• ACLS, CRT, NRP, and PALS certifications preferred
• Military certifications acceptable; AHA preferred, ARC not accepted
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience in Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, NICU, and Pulmonary Function Test Lab preferred
• Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, high frequency jet ventilator, and oscillator
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment including ECMO, Bubble CPAP, and oscillating ventilator preferred
• Experience with pulmonary function testing including spirometry, lung volume testing, and bronchial provocation testing preferred
• Skilled in airway management including intubation, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Experience administering a range of respiratory medications including bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, and Nitric Oxide preferred
• State-issued ID required for consideration
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across adult critical care, emergency department, and neonatal/pediatric populations
• Participate in high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports
• Perform and interpret arterial blood gases
• Manage patients with conditions including ARDS, COVID, pneumonia, cystic fibrosis, and RSV
• Gray scrubs required; scrubs not provided
• Candidates living within 90 miles are considered local and accepted at a lower bill rate
• RTO limited to 5 non-consecutive days, with only one holiday RTO request permitted during Nov-Jan
• All RTO must be approved by management prior to contract signing
• Completion of pre-start and orientation training modules required, tracked in Healthstream
