ABOUT THE ROLE

As an NC Pre-K Lead Teacher , you will lead a state-funded NC Pre-K classroom by implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with North Carolina Early Learning Standards.

You'll create an engaging classroom where children build confidence, independence, social-emotional skills, and kindergarten readiness while ensuring compliance with NC Pre-K standards and licensing requirements.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead an NC Pre-K classroom using developmentally appropriate instructional practices
• Create engaging lesson plans aligned with the NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and organized learning environment
• Foster children's cognitive, language, physical, emotional, and social development
• Complete ongoing child assessments and developmental documentation
• Build strong partnerships with families through regular communication and conferences
• Ensure classroom compliance with NC Pre-K and North Carolina licensing requirements
• Collaborate with administrators and fellow teachers to maintain high-quality programming
• Mentor and support classroom assistants while modeling best teaching practices
• Participate in required professional development and training

Qualifications

Required:

• Must meet North Carolina NC Pre-K Lead Teacher qualifications
• North Carolina Birth-Kindergarten (BK) License OR
• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Birth-Kindergarten Education, or another NC Pre-K approved field
• Must meet NC Division of Child Development and Early Education requirements
• Previous preschool or Pre-K teaching experience preferred
• Knowledge of NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
• Must successfully pass all required background screenings
