Job Title: Lead, Software Engineer/Front-End Job Code: 41505 Job Location: Melbourne, FL (Patrick Space Force Base) Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off Job Description: We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Lead Software/Integration Engineer with experience in modern front-end development, Javascript, AWS, Docker, Linux, CI/CD, and AI-assisted development to support front-end modernization, software integration, and mission-system reliability improvements. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership across software and infrastructure teams and work onsite at Patrick Space Force Base. Essential Functions: * * Build modern, responsive, intuitive front-end solutions using current web frameworks and best practices. * Apply software engineering best practices across the full development lifecycle, including code reviews, automated testing, version control, and CI/CD pipelines. * Deploy and maintain applications in AWS, ensuring scalability, security, resilience, and cost-effectiveness. * Support containerized deployments using Docker and, where applicable, Kubernetes. * Engage with customers daily to refine requirements and improve application functionality. * Prepare and brief technical designs, implementation plans, roadmaps, and documentation. * Produce and maintain technical documentation for system design, application architecture, deployment procedures, and sustainment activities. * Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, DynamoDB, or other relational/non-relational data stores. * Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar. * Security+ Certification or any DoD IAT Level II Certification, or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of accepting position. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. * Active TS clearance with the ability to obtain SCI. Preferred Additional Skills: * Experience developing AI/ML-enabled mission applications, analytical tools, or decision-support capabilities involving advanced data processing, automation, visualization, and user interaction. * Experience developing and deploying applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS). * Proficiency with front-end technologies such as React, Angular, Vue, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. * Experience with Docker, CI/CD, Git, REST APIs, microservices, and secure software development. * Experience with scientific, sensor-derived, geophysical, acoustic, seismic, infrasonic, or other mission-relevant technical data is highly desired. * Experience building back-end services and APIs using Python, Java, Node.js, .NET, or similar. * Experience with AI-assisted development tools * Experience transitioning research or prototype capabilities into operational software tools, supporting classified DoD mission environments strongly preferred. * Experience supporting Agile software development teams and participating in Scrum ceremonies. * Experience building and deploying mission applications in classified or high-security environments. * Familiarity with the C2S Access Portal (CAP) and high-side AWS environments is highly desired. * Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. #LI-EK1 L3Harris Technologies is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
