VP, Fair Lending Monitoring

Job Description:Role Summary/Purpose:This role is responsible for the development and ongoing enhancement of the SYF Fair Lending Monitoring Program. We are looking for a seasoned analytics professional with a proven ability to implement governance processes across 1st and 2nd lines of defense. This role will work with other Fair Lending leaders, governance leaders, and model and strategy owners to implement a risk based monitoring program across the enterprise. This role will report to the Fair and Responsible Banking Officer and be responsible for managing analytic resources dedicated to the Fair Lending function.We’re proud to offer you choice and flexibility. You may be occasionally requested to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events.Essential Responsibilities:Create a 3 year plan for the development and implementation of a framework for the periodic ongoing monitoring of Fair Lending risks.Develop and implement an ongoing monitoring framework for Models and strategies, supported by robust governance processes, on a prioritized basis through the disparate impact analysis of ultimate outcomes.Provide oversight for the management and enhancement of the existing SYF Fair Lending Disparate Impact Model Testing framework while enhancing it to include strategies.Develop testing procedures, including defining standardized steps, metrics, and thresholds. Create a centralized repository of the programming codes (and associated data) for geocoding, proxy coding, and common standard steps within the DI testing process.Establish quantitative procedures to ensure variables included in models and strategies are not close proxies for prohibited basis.Developing a Model/CST-level Fair Lending risk rating/prioritization schema to drive the frequency and timing of DI testing and monitoring.Identify additional areas where automation and analysis would improve the overall fair lending / fair banking program including but not limited to the development of new KRI metrics and / or risk appetite metrics.Support the SVP, Fair and Responsible Banking with respect to fair lending monitoring components of any Internal Audits and Supervisory Agency compliance examinations.Keep pace with the latest developments in the regulatory environment and the financial services industry to provide guidance as it relates to fair lending monitoring.Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelor’s degree with quantitative underpinning (i.e., Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or, Engineering) and 12+ years of Consumer Lending statistical modeling / analytics experience, fair lending analytics experience, model governance or validation.10+ years managing a team and providing thought leadership to support model/strategy development activities Demonstrated ability to lead /manage large cross functional projects and deliver results within deadlines Excellent communication and influencing skills to coordinate with multiple functional areas and independently present explanations of complex subjects to senior management and partner with teams throughout the company Desired Characteristics:Highly motivated strategic thinker and change leader with the ability to be proactive in risk identification, take initiative, and carefully monitor, follow through, and complete responsibilities in a professional and timely mannerProven ability to lead large cross-functional projects impacting various parts of the organization, including the ability to implement governance processesExperience with Disparate Impact Testing and MonitoringMasters or PHD degree with quantitative underpinning (i.e., Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or, Engineering) Understanding of Fair Lending Laws and Principles including ECOA, Disparate Treatment and Disparate Impact    Grade/Level: 14The salary range for this position is 150,000.00 - 250,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.Eligibility Requirements:You must be 18 years or olderYou must have a high school diploma or equivalentYou must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding processYou must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.
