Bookkeeper

Our client, a food distribution company based in Fresno, is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial record-keeping. This role supports the accounting team by maintaining accurate ledgers, processing invoices, and reconciling accounts for a growing regional distributor.

The position requires 20 to 25 hours per week with flexible scheduling around core business hours. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with small to mid-size business accounting and is comfortable working independently while communicating regularly with the finance manager.

This is an on-site role at the company's Fresno warehouse and office facility. Candidates should be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple accounts across vendors, customers, and payroll support functions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger entries
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
• Prepare invoices and track outstanding payments
• Assist with payroll data entry and timekeeping records
• Generate basic financial reports for management review
• Organize and maintain financial documentation and files
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes

Requirements

• Associate degree in accounting or related field preferred
• 2 or more years of bookkeeping experience
• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software
• Strong Excel skills including formulas and pivot tables
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with accounts payable and receivable processes
• Strong organizational and time management skills
