Quality Control Manager Requirements & Qualifications Minimum 5 years combined experience in commercial construction, including 2+ years as a quality control manager. BA/BS in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred; equivalent experience and training considered. USACE CQM for Contractors Certificate required. Level 1 EM 385-1-1, CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30-hour certifications (training may be provided). Strong command of construction materials, processes, and documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with RMS/QCS and Viewpoint preferred. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and proof of automobile liability insurance. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical site duties as required. Flexibility to work outside standard business hours and travel, including overnight stays and possible relocation. Quality Control Manager Preferred Background & Skills Specialty inspection training, licenses, or certifications. LEED AP, AP+, or Green Associate (GA) Certificate. Familiarity with government contracting and DoD construction standards. Experience with document control, scheduling, and project planning. Strong interpersonal, team leadership, and mentoring skills. Quality Control Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities Implement and manage project-specific quality control programs, ensuring strict compliance with contract requirements. Conduct daily site inspections, document findings, and oversee corrective actions for non-conforming work. Coordinate submittals, testing, and inspections; maintain accurate, timely documentation and reports. Lead and facilitate required meetings, progress updates, and training on quality systems for project teams. Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and client representatives to uphold quality standards and resolve issues. Maintain and update as-built drawings, submittal registers, and all required quality control documentation. Support safe jobsite practices and compliance through close coordination with safety personnel. Mentor and guide project teams on quality processes, promoting continuous improvement and best practices.
