divh2Gastroenterologist (MD/DO)/h2pThe Gastroenterologist provides comprehensive medical and procedural care for patients with disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and hepatobiliary system. This role includes evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of digestive diseases, utilizing evidence-based medical management and endoscopic procedures to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care./ph3Essential Duties and Responsibilities/h3ulliEvaluate and manage patients with gastrointestinal, hepatic, biliary, and pancreatic disorders/liliDiagnose and treat conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, liver disease, and gastrointestinal malignancies/liliPerform and interpret endoscopic procedures including upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, consistent with training and privileges/liliProvide inpatient consultation services and outpatient clinic care as needed/liliDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based guidelines/liliInterpret diagnostic studies including laboratory tests, imaging, and pathology results/liliCollaborate with primary care providers, surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists/liliEducate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care/liliMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentation/liliParticipate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives/liliSupervise and educate advanced practice providers, residents, or fellows, as applicable/liliComply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards/li/ulh3Qualifications/h3ulliDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school/liliCompletion of an accredited internal medicine residency/liliCompletion of an accredited gastroenterology fellowship program/liliBoard-eligible or board-certified in Gastroenterology/liliAbility to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure/liliDEA registration or eligibility/li/ulh3Skills and Competencies/h3ulliExpertise in gastrointestinal disease management and endoscopic procedures/liliStrong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills/liliExcellent communication and patient counseling abilities/liliAbility to manage complex and chronic conditions/liliCommitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care/li/ulh3Work Environment/h3ulliOutpatient clinics, endoscopy suites, and hospital inpatient settings/liliCall responsibilities as determined by practice or service needs/li/ulh3Physical Requirements/h3ulliAbility to stand for extended periods during procedures/liliManual dexterity for endoscopic and procedural tasks/liliVisual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment and procedural monitoring/li/ulpMust maintain state certification and/or licensure./p/div
