Licensed Practical Nurse - Teammate Health

Position Overview This fully‑time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position involves working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 0700‑1600 with a lunch break from 1200‑1300. The role is compensation capped at a pay range of $24.10‑$36.15 per hour, with additional incentive, shift, on‑call, and other pay opportunities available based on qualifications and performance. Responsibilities Prepare and room patients for examination, including vital signs and documentation of health information (chief complaint, allergies, medications). Perform laboratory procedures (e.g., strep test, wound culture, specimen collection) using aseptic technique and standard precautions. Assist physicians and providers with procedures and surgeries such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, and other advanced clinical tasks. Administer medications under physician orders, including immunizations, antibiotics, pain medication, vitamins, topical agents, and insulin. Initiate, maintain, and discontinue IV therapy when allowable, including administration of selected fluids with pre‑mixed medications. Provide basic patient education on performance of tasks, skills, treatment, and self‑care. Coordinate follow‑up with labs, pharmacies, and other services; manage prescription refills, new appointments, and referrals. Refer appropriate questions to registered nurses and physicians and relay information back to patients as directed. Communicate with physicians and other team members, documenting accurate and timely patient condition information. Perform advanced clinical tasks such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, audiograms, EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, casting, and complex wound care under supervision. Organize and prepare exam rooms, labs, and work areas, including cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment. Assist with patient positioning and movement, lifting and transporting patients while using proper technique. Maintain clinic equipment, completing routine maintenance and quality monitoring for cleaning, sterilizing, and caring for instruments. Participate in patient‑centered initiatives, care management, performance improvement, and quality improvement activities. Qualifications Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the position is located. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), to be obtained within 45 days of hire. Completion of an accredited or approved practical nursing program. No prior experience required. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build rapport with patients, staff, and physicians. Excellent organization, prioritization, and problem‑solving abilities. Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding, navigation within a Windows operating system, and use of electronic medical records and email. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday. Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist; lift up to 20 lbs over the head; carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance. Push or pull with a force of 30 lbs; perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present. Exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood, and body fluid hazards on a frequent basis. Must wear protective clothing and equipment as required and have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch for fine‑hand manipulation skills.
