The DSP must show compassion, patience, and a commitment to diversity, equity, justice and inclusion, and effectively communicate to build trust and assess progress. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide support to program participants that meets their needs and fosters community integration, including swimming Implement, follow, and document complex Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP) Apply de‑escalation techniques during crisis situations and behavior meltdowns Apply Positive Behavior Support principles to all habilitative work to enhance quality of life Familiar with Residential Service Guidelines issued by the Developmental Disabilities Administration Deliver instruction and support as described in each participant’s Individual Instruction and Support Plan (IISP) Ensure daily needs are met: personal hygiene, food preparation, housekeeping, shopping, and health monitoring, including medication supervision Assist participants in community outings; arrange or provide transportation as needed Treat participants with dignity, encourage decision‑making and protect rights Provide informal counseling and problem‑solving support Attend staff meetings with House Manager or Program Managers/Director as required Participate in training required by the agency, DDA, and other parties Contribute to development and implementation of IISPs for each participant Become Nurse Assistant Registered (NAR) at employee’s own expense, initially and annually Enroll in and complete Nurse Delegation study course, submitting test within 30 days of employment Monitor medication regimes and treatment compliance Participate in ongoing program development and assessment Coordinate support meetings and cross‑system crisis plan development for clients in need Assist clients in maintaining community stability, reducing reliance on hospitals or involuntary treatment Maintain professional relationships with service providers, participants’ families, and agency staff Ensure timely completion of all documentation: medication logs, shift notes, progress notes, data sheets, incident reports, financial records Hold a valid driver’s license, possess a car, and be willing to transport clients in own vehicle Perform other duties assigned by Residential Management Team Required Education and Experience Preferred bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or counseling‑related field, with emphasis on families and community agencies Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a clinician, case manager, or residential provider, demonstrating clinical assessment and treatment planning skills Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses Experience interacting with individuals who have limited verbal or non‑verbal communication Experience supporting individuals exhibiting self‑harm or harmful behaviors toward others Licensing Requirements Pass Washington State background check RBT or alternative behavior‑support credential, or willingness to complete course Obtain NAR within 90 days of hire First Aid/CPR Certified within 120 days of employment (training provided) Blood Borne Pathogen Certified within 120 days of employment (training provided) Obtain CPI Blue Card Ongoing Eligibility Qualifications Complete and pass background check screening upon hire and every two years thereafter Maintain active NAR, CPR/First Aid, and Nurse Delegation certifications Complete at least 12 hours of continuing education annually Location: Lake Stevens, WA (98258) #J-18808-Ljbffr
