Nurse Manager, RN, Pre Admission Testing and Surgical Optimization Clinic Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description Responsible for managing the Pre Admission Testing and Surgical Optimization Clinic. Provides 24‑hour accountability for patient care delivery, planning, and evaluation of services for one or more clinical areas and staff performance. Requires a high level of independent judgment and substantial latitude for independent action. Position Summary Reporting to a Director responsible for a group of Clinical Services for the hospital site, the manager assumes management responsibility for a major function or functions that support clinical operations. Direct reports may include Clinical Leaders, Coordinators, and nursing supervisory personnel. Qualifications Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree desired. Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan. 3–5 years of clinical experience, including progressive levels of responsibility. Preferred: Two years of supervisory or managerial experience and five years of clinical experience in similar areas. Project management skills, including the ability to define program, project, or process objectives, identify stakeholders, plan steps, and coordinate resources to accomplish goals. Ability to develop, implement, and administer budgets. Responsibilities Identify needs for policy development or revision and define policies in collaboration with higher‑level management. Develop, draft, or define procedures and protocols in collaboration with higher management, and modify them as necessary. Monitor workflow quality and quantity, ensuring work is completed, and initiate or recommend personnel actions such as hires, departures, and discipline. Complete performance appraisals. Develop daily, monthly, and yearly goals and measures; assist in developing and monitoring budgets for related fields or processes and assist in assessing goal attainment. Initiate, facilitate, and support communication among healthcare providers and external agencies.
