Hiring Salary : $3,871per month plus a competitive benefits package including a paid family health insurance plan, paid leave (annual leave, sick leave, and 10 paid holidays), retirement plan options, tuition reimbursement, work-life balance/flexibility, an infant-at-work program, and more.


This position is a Monday-Friday day position located in Bismarck with a hybrid work schedule.

Summary of Work


The Intake Coordinator provides customer service, coordination, and operational support for the Utilization Review department, assisting medical providers, injured workers, and internal agency teams with utilization review processes. The role focuses on coordinating prior authorization requests, supporting communication between providers and WSI staff, and ensuring accurate processing of medical service requests in alignment with established WSI processes, utilization review guidelines, and workers' compensation requirements.


Responsibilities include managing incoming calls, assessing customer needs, and assisting medical providers with myWSI functions, registration, forms, and prior authorization submissions. The position coordinates and monitors utilization review requests, reviews medical service submissions for accuracy, maintains department records and tracking systems, and communicates with providers regarding requirements, decisions, and next steps. Additionally, the role supports Claims, Customer Service, and Nurse Case Management teams, provides training and guidance on utilization review policies and procedures, maintains reporting and quality assurance resources, and assists with department improvements, projects, and process updates.


Minimum Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED
• At least one year of experience providing customer service, administrative support, or working with healthcare, insurance, or claims-related processes
• One year of college coursework in business, healthcare administration, or a related field may substitute for one year of work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with medical records, prior authorization requests, claims, or utilization review processes is preferred
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
