CIVIL ENGINEER IV

Take the next step in your civil engineering career! A Civil Engineer IV performs professional engineering work in the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of civil engineering projects. What You Will Do General duties include but are not limited to: Designing structures such as reservoirs, retaining walls, bridges, culverts, tunnels, pipelines, sewers, sidewalks, highways, etc. Preparing designs, plans, specifications, estimates, and reports. Supervising construction and inspection activities. Reviewing and interpreting plans and specifications of buildings and structures. Minimum Qualification Requirements At the time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non‑citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment. Education Requirement Equivalent to graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in an engineering specialty. Experience Requirement Three years of non‑registered professional civil engineering experience. License Requirement Possession of an appropriate valid driver’s license, as required. Possession of a valid license as a professional Civil Engineer in the State of Hawaii. NOTE: Applicants with a current out-of-state professional Civil Engineer license must obtain their Hawaii license prior to appointment.
