Radiology Tech - MRI

MRI Tech

SportsMED Orthopedic is seeking an experienced MRI Tech to join our Huntsville, AL clinic. The ideal candidate would have at least 2 years of clinical x-ray experience with MRI procedure experience highly preferred.

X-Ray Tech Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operation of MRI machines, computer software (EMR) systems, and other high-tech equipment as needed
• Determine individual technique for ordered examination and position patient properly Maintain proper quality control procedures
• Answering patient questions about the procedure
• Adjusting equipment as needed to produce high-quality images
• Evaluating images to make sure they meet the ordering provider's requirements
• Must have knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to MRI exams and equipment
• Work as a team member within the imaging department

Education and Experience:

• Associate's Degree in Radiology (experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
• Current/active ARRT license required - RT (MR) strongly preferred
• Knowledge of radiologic standards, requirements and regulations
• Thorough knowledge of orthopedic terminology and anatomy

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, grasping, carrying, reaching, bending, and stooping
• Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds or greater
• Exposure to radiation which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and monitored by radiation badges

Qualifications:

Preferred: Associates or better.
