Job Responsibilities:

• Performs direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and certified by the patients physician to ensure quality and continuity of care.
• Follows Plan of Care as established by the supervising Physical Therapist and immediately reports any changes in patient status.
• Adheres to State Practice Act Guidelines and verifies Plan of Care prior to each visit.
• Incorporates patient care goals established in the Plan of Care into therapy care.
• Instructs patients and families in safe use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices.
• Instructs the patient and/or caregiver in the home therapy program.
• Works in a physically demanding, high-stress environment requiring full range of body motion including handling, lifting, and transferring patients.
• May work irregular hours including on-call hours.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association.
• Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of employment.
• 6+ months of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred.
• Valid drivers license, current auto insurance, and dependable vehicle required.
• Able and willing to travel within branch/office coverage area (up to 50%).
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment.
