A Brief Overview

The CRNA cares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan in a variety of settings for procedures including, but not limited to, surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management.

What you will do

• Perform a pre‑operative patient assessment.
• Determine a plan of care and communicate the plan of care to patient and family.
• Establish and maintain essential venous access.
• Ensure establishment and maintenance of airway.
• Responsible for inducting, maintaining anesthesia, and proper monitoring.
• Responsible for completing the anesthesia and the emergence from anesthesia.
• Transfer care to appropriate staff at termination of procedure.
• Perform post‑operative follow‑up for each case performed.
• Perform as a clinical instructor for anesthesia students.

The individual must be able to work the hours specified and to perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience

• Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) – Board of Nursing; an active license in the state of practice upon hire.
• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist – National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA); upon hire.
• Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing; an active license in the state of practice upon hire.
