POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sourcing Specialist / Supply Chain Analyst plays a key role in the DwyerOmega Sourcing team. The Sourcing Specialist / Supply Chain Analyst engages with their team to:
Support Commodity Management in driving sourcing initiatives and building a world-class supply chain for both direct and white-label goods. This role combines strategic sourcing execution with supply chain analytics to improve cost, supplier performance, material availability, inventory efficiency, and overall supply chain effectiveness. The role will work closely with Commodity Management, Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Finance, Quality and Logistics to execute sourcing initiatives, analyze supply chain performance, identify risks and opportunities, and support data-driven decision-making across DwyerOmega operations.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist the Commodity Manager in executing strategic sourcing initiatives, including conducting end-to-end RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, supplier selection, qualification and onboarding.
- Support “Make vs. Buy” analysis to optimize sourcing decisions.
- Conduct supplier, market and spend analysis to identify cost-reduction opportunities, alternative sources, emerging risks and changes in commodity or market conditions.
- Support efforts to consolidate the supply base and increase spend concentration with preferred and strategic suppliers.
- Identify opportunities to leverage spend across DwyerOmega businesses, locations and product lines to improve pricing, terms, service and supplier relationships.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to implement cost-saving initiatives through supplier negotiations, volume consolidation, resourcing, specification changes and process optimization.
- Co-lead the RFX through FAI process, ensuring a seamless transition to Procurement for Production PO’s.
- Support the evaluation, selection and ongoing performance management of suppliers, ensuring alignment with quality, delivery, cost, responsiveness and service expectations. Prepare materials and scorecards for Supplier Reviews.
- Be an escalation point for the Procurement Team when supplier performance, pricing, capacity, delivery or other supply issues require Sourcing involvement.
- Assist in preparing, reviewing and negotiating contracts, including pricing terms, payment terms, lead times, service level agreements (SLAs), inventory agreements and delivery schedules.
SUPPLY CHAIN ANALYTICS AND PLANNING:
- Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, risks, constraints and opportunities related to inventory, demand, supplier performance, lead times, material availability, cost and working capital.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports and KPIs that provide visibility into sourcing and supply chain performance.
- Monitor key metrics including supplier on-time delivery, lead time, purchase price variance, inventory levels, excess and obsolete inventory, past-due purchase orders, supplier quality and cost savings.
- Analyze historical demand, purchasing patterns, forecasts and inventory requirements to support material planning and sourcing decisions.
- Partner with Procurement, Planning and Operations to identify potential material shortages and supply constraints before they impact production or customer delivery.
- Support inventory optimization initiatives by analyzing safety stock, reorder points, lead times, MOQ requirements, demand variability and supplier performance.
- Identify opportunities to reduce excess and obsolete inventory and improve inventory turns and working capital.
- Analyze supplier lead times, delivery performance and capacity and recommend actions to improve supply reliability.
- Conduct spend analysis across suppliers, commodities, business units and manufacturing locations to identify sourcing and consolidation opportunities.
- Perform landed-cost and total-cost-of-ownership analyses incorporating material cost, freight, tariffs/duties, inventory carrying costs, tooling, quality and other relevant cost drivers.
- Support scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to evaluate sourcing alternatives, supplier changes, demand fluctuations and supply chain disruptions.
SUPPLY RISK AND CONTINUITY:
- Identify and monitor supply chain risks including single/sole-source exposure, supplier capacity constraints, geographic concentration, long lead-time components, financial risk, geopolitical exposure and material shortages.
- Maintain visibility to critical components and suppliers and assist Commodity Managers in developing mitigation and contingency plans.
- Support dual-sourcing and supplier-resourcing initiatives for high-risk components and commodities.
- Work with Procurement and suppliers to address shortages, past-due orders, allocation situations and other supply disruptions.
- Analyze supplier and component dependencies to improve business continuity and supply chain resiliency.
DATA, SYSTEMS AND PROCESS IMPROVEMENT:
- Extract, analyze and interpret data from ERP, procurement and supply chain systems to support sourcing and operational decisions.
- Maintain and improve sourcing and supply chain datasets, ensuring consistency and accuracy of supplier, pricing, lead-time, MOQ and related information.
- Support supplier and material master-data accuracy and identify opportunities to improve data quality across systems.
- Develop standardized reporting and analytical tools to improve visibility and decision-making across the global Sourcing organization.
- Use advanced Excel and other analytical tools to automate recurring reports and reduce manual data manipulation.
- Identify opportunities to streamline sourcing, procurement and supply chain processes and reduce complexity.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL SUPPORT:
- Work closely with Commodity Management, Procurement, Planning, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, Quality and Finance to align sourcing strategies with broader business and supply chain objectives.
- Provide analytical support for new-product introductions, supplier transitions, resourcing projects and manufacturing transfers.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting and cost-reduction planning by providing sourcing, spend, inflation and supply chain analyses.
- Develop clear analyses and presentations that translate complex supply chain data into actionable recommendations for stakeholders and leadership.

- Ability to analyze spend, inventory, demand, supplier and purchasing data from multiple sources.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify trends and root causes from complex datasets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
