ABOUT US Founded in 1866 The Sanborn Map Company Sanborn is one of the oldest continuously operating mapping and geospatial information technology companies in the US Our work is highly visual and our mapped data and applications are an essential part of todays information economy We serve many industries and government departments and need to communicate effectively with them about our wide range of products and services We remain at the forefront of the GIS and photogrammetry industry by offering high quality technologically superior products and services backed by the industrys most experienced staff We are looking for a talented individual to fill this role working in a collaborative environment ready to innovate workflow LOCATION Colorado Springs CO or Charlotte NC In Office daily SUMMARY The GIS Analyst I provides technical expertise in geospatial data processing quality control analysis and data management in support of client projects This role is responsible for developing validating and maintaining high quality spatial and tabular datasets performing spatial analyses and ensuring data integrity throughout the project lifecycle The GIS Analyst works closely with project teams and clients to translate requirements into reliable geospatial data products that support decision making reporting and visualization MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES Specific tasks will include Working with geospatial tools and technologies including Esri ArcGIS and open source platforms Performing geospatial analysis data collection georeferencing and digitizing data automation QAQC and mapping activities Creating web based cartographic maps reports and presentations Translating customer business requirements into technical solutions and workflows Documenting processing workflows methodologies and project findings Other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Not applicable QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill andor ability required Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions EDUCATION Associates degree in a Geography GIS Remote Sensing or related accredited educational program or equivalent work experience Bachelors degree preferred EXPERIENCE 0 2 years of professional experience as a GIS analyst with knowledge of GIS concepts and technical skills related to data development data analysis data management and data visualizationProficiency with ESRIs products including ArcGIS Pro Portal ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS ServerProficiency with open source technologies QGIS PostGISDemonstrated ability to develop geospatial processes to support data development spatial analysis and data integrationAbility to communicate in an effective and timely manner with customers project leads and team membersAbility to define technical workflows and processing methodologiesProfessionalism strong written and verbal communication skills organizational skills attention to detail and a team player attitudeAbility to work both independently and as part of a team and be accountable and responsible for the tasks assigned to youDemonstrated enthusiasm and energy to succeedSelf motivated to pursue continuous learning opportunities PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working on GIS Transportation projects Right of Way safety analysis roadway characteristic collection etcExperience working with Esri Roads and Highways and Linear Referencing Systems and data modelsExperience working in versioned database environments ie Enterprise Geodatabases SDEProficiency with FME to build geospatial workflows and perform geospatial analysisProficiency with scripting languages eg Python RProficiency with CADD tools such as AutoDesk and MicroStationGISP Certified Salary and Eligibility Salary Range 55K 65K annual Applicant must live in the US and be authorized to work in the US Benefits medical dental vision 401k holiday PTO EAP disability life insurance Sanborn is an AAVeteranDisability Equal Opportunity Employer #J-18808-Ljbffr Sanborn Map Company
