Job Details Job Title: Survey Crew Chief Location: Glen Burnie, MD Salary: $28.00 - $45.00 per hour (approximately $58,240 - $93,600 annually) Company Overview KCW Engineering Technologies, Inc. is a women‑owned firm with over 40 years of experience providing civil engineering, land surveying, electrical distribution engineering, and traffic control design and inspections services. Responsibilities Understand survey scope and execute a plan to complete the survey on time Keep accurate field notes and sketches Conduct kickoff meetings to review project scope with the survey team before, during, and after project completion Solve problems in the field and provide solutions Mentor and train crew field personnel Operate Trimble total stations, GPS, and data‑collectors proficiently Perform mathematical computations and calculations in the field Minimum Qualifications Ability to occasionally work as a one‑person crew utilizing robotic and GPS equipment Valid current driver’s license Physically able to lift 50 pounds, walk long distances across all terrains, and work in all weather conditions Experience performing topographical, boundary/right‑of‑way, as‑built, planimetric, laser scanning, and ALTA/NSPS surveys Adherence to proper procedures and methods to complete surveys Knowledge and experience with Trimble survey equipment, including maintenance, cleaning, and instrument adjustment Ability to work independently and without direct onsite supervision Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and laptop usage Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills Strong punctuality and reliability Preferred Experience and Certifications Certified Survey Technician LevelI or above Minimum 5 years of experience as an instrument man performing topographical, boundary/right‑of‑way, as‑built, planimetric, laser scanning, and ALTA/NSPS surveys Experience with Trimble equipment (plus) Experience with Civil3D/Carlson (plus) Ability to perform field work and then process data in the office, or willingness to learn (plus) Education High school diploma or equivalent Compensation Hourly rate: $28.00 – $45.00 (annual equivalent $58,240 – $93,600) Position eligible for overtime Position eligible for discretionary bonuses at the sole discretion of the company Benefits Company‑paid mental health program 401(k) with match Health, Dental, and Vision insurance $25,000 company‑paid life insurance Supplemental life and disability insurance Paid time off Paid parental leaveProfessional development assistance Referral program Tuition reimbursement Equal Opportunity KCW Engineering Technologies, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity and affirmative action employer.
