And that’s where you come in.Job Description:Hitachi Rail is looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated Senior Mechanical Integration Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment. Based in Hagerstown, Maryland, you will play a key role in shaping the integration of advanced rolling stock systems, ensuring designs move seamlessly from concept through to manufacture. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale, high-profile rail projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and international colleagues to deliver innovative and reliable engineering solutions.Accountabilities The responsibilities include but are not limited to:Carry out 3D mechanical integration analysis across train components, producing clear and actionable reportsLead the development and integration of mechanical systems, including supplier collaboration and co-design activitiesManage and maintain the full train digital mock-up in 3D CAD environmentsDevelop and oversee tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure successful system integrationProduce full train assembly drawings to support manufacturing processesDesign mechanical components such as frames, brackets, and supporting structuresCollaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners to deliver engineering excellenceCoach, mentor, and review the work of team members to ensure quality, consistency, and continuous development.Required Skills/ Knowledge8+ years of experience in Mechanical Integration EngineerDegree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical backgroundStrong experience with 3D CAD tools (e.g. Creo, CATIA, Autodesk)Support team development through coaching and work reviews, while demonstrating strong self-management, independence, and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplinesProficiency in standard engineering and office tools (Word, Excel, etc.)Desired Skills/ KnowledgeKnowledge of railway vehicle systems and integration principlesFamiliarity with engineering processes and requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS)Understanding of rail standards and regulationsPassion for the rail industry and continuous improvementWillingness to travel occasionally for business requirementsEducation/QualificationsBachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical background.Benefits:Hitachi Rail employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including Competitive Pay, Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, Short & Long Term Disability, Life & Accident Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, a Retirement Savings Plan, and Paid Vacation.
