About the Position

The unit typically has 29 beds with an ideal patient ratio of 1:4, currently running 1:5. Support staff includes unit secretaries and patient care technicians. Equipment utilized includes Alaris IV pumps, Welch Allyn vital signs machines, bladder scan devices, and vein finders. The documentation system in use is Meditech. Scheduling consists of 36 hours per week, with a floating policy based on competencies. Candidates must provide safe, high-quality, and compassionate care. Blood glucose checks are performed as ordered, with required documentation and assessments every shift. The dress code requires royal blue scrubs, without artificial or gel nails. Unit guidelines mandate vital signs checks every four hours, which may be performed more frequently based on patient condition.
