Seasonal Immunizing Pharmacist Part Time

In retail locations, District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) cultivate a culture of excellence in each pharmacy, acting as role models and setting the bar for the pharmacy team. Responsibilities Help manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled, serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation. Assume day‑to‑day Pharmacy Manager duties when acting as the sole or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty. Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, coaching the pharmacy team, and proactively resolving insurance and medication issues. Proactively offer and deliver immunizations and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning immunization. Manage pharmacy inventory effectively, guiding the team on best practices and protecting cold‑chain products. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Maintain clinical and technical skills, complete required trainings and CMEs, and seek opportunities to expand knowledge. Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible. Comply with all federal and state laws, professional standards, and CVS Health policies, including controlled substance dispensing and record‑keeping. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. Essential Functions Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing. Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe. Attention and Focus Concentrate on tasks over time. Pivot quickly between tasks. Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety. Customer Service and Team Orientation Actively help people in a friendly manner. Notice and understand patients’ reactions, responding appropriately. Communication Skills Use verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues. Employ active listening, give full attention, ask questions, and avoid inappropriate interruptions. Mathematical Reasoning Use math to solve problems such as determining total tablets, day’s supply, or needed bottles. Problem Resolution Identify challenging patient or colleague interactions and choose the best course of action. Physical Demands Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods. Lift, scan, and bag items; reach overhead; work with fingers; lift up to 20 lbs; maintain precise control of machines. Maintain visual acuity for small parts and perform required tasks accurately. Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager. Preferred Qualifications 1‑2 years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
