Summary
The External Research Solutions (ERS) team supports scientific innovation by enabling efficient, high-quality collaboration with external research partners. The External Chemistry Sourcing and Operations Specialist provides scientific and operational support across outsourced research activities. This role supports research operations in areas including chemistry synthesis, in vitro biology, reagent provision, ADME/DMPK services, purchase order generation, finance and budget tracking, and sample logistics. The position also supports data integration, invoice resolution, KPI tracking, and business analytics related to sourcing and financial data. Success in this role requires a strong scientific foundation, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners across global locations.
Responsibilities

• Support outsourced research activities across external research partnerships.
• Provide scientific and operational support related to chemistry synthesis, in vitro biology, reagent provision, and ADME/DMPK services.
• Coordinate research operations to ensure efficient execution of external scientific activities.
• Assist with purchase order generation and support finance-related operational processes.
• Support budget tracking activities and maintain visibility into research-related expenditures.
• Coordinate sample logistics and facilitate the movement of materials as required.
• Support data integration activities to ensure research information is accurately captured and maintained.
• Assist in resolving invoice-related issues and support associated operational processes.
• Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to research sourcing and operational activities.
• Support business analytics efforts involving sourcing data and financial information.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external research partners to support successful project execution.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders across local and international locations.
• Contribute to the continuous execution and coordination of external research operations.

Requirements

• Strong scientific foundation in one or more of the following areas:
  • In vitro biology
  • Reagent provision
  • Synthetic organic chemistry
  • DMPK
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple operational activities.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and across international environments.
• Ability to support both scientific and operational aspects of outsourced research activities.

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $26.64 - $26.64/hr. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
