Fitter Fabricator Details: Temp-to-Hire position $ 17.00 to $ 20.00 / hour Full Time work available First Shift (Monday through Friday from 07:00am to 04:00pm) Fit and fabricate structural steel and metal components according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, measurements, and fabrication details Lay out materials and determine proper dimensions, angles, and placement before assembly Measure, mark, cut, grind, bevel, and prepare steel for fabrication Fit pieces together accurately prior to welding Use squares, levels, tape measures, clamps, and other fitting/fabrication tools to ensure proper alignment Perform welding as needed to complete fabricated assemblies Operate grinders, saws, cutting equipment, and other fabrication shop tools Fitter Fabricator Qualifications: Previous fitting and metal fabrication experience required Must be able to independently fit and fabricate steel componentsnot just weld pre-fitted material. Strong blueprint and shop drawing reading skills. Must be comfortable working with measurements, fractions, angles, and basic fabrication math. Experience cutting, grinding, fitting, tack welding, and assembling steel. Welding experience required; ability to produce quality welds according to specifications. Must be able to use standard fabrication and measuring tools accurately. Ability to work independently from drawings and instructions. Must have strong attention to detail and take pride in producing accurate, quality work.
