Senior Low Voltage Estimator

Location: Georgia
Schedule: Full-time

Pay $175,000 a Year

Position Overview

PRT Staffing is seeking an experienced  Senior Low Voltage Estimator to support complex data center, mission-critical, structured cabling, and commercial infrastructure projects. This position is responsible for developing accurate estimates from initial bid review through project award and handoff to operations. 

The ideal candidate can independently review construction drawings and specifications, perform detailed takeoffs, calculate labor and material requirements, obtain vendor pricing, identify project risks, and prepare complete bid packages.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for data center, mission-critical, structured cabling, and commercial low-voltage projects
• Review drawings, specifications, addenda, schedules, and bid requirements
• Perform quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam and other estimating tools
• Develop material lists for copper, fiber, racks, cabinets, pathways, containment, grounding, labeling, and testing
• Calculate labor, staffing, equipment, and field resource requirements
• Identify scope gaps, design conflicts, constructability concerns, and project risks
• Obtain competitive pricing from manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors
• Prepare proposals, scopes of work, assumptions, exclusions, and supporting bid documentation
• Participate in bid reviews, customer clarifications, value engineering, and scope negotiations
• Complete project handoffs to Project Management and Operations
• Support change-order pricing and compare estimated costs against actual project performance
• Help develop estimating standards, templates, labor units, and best practices
• Provide guidance and training to junior estimating and project team members

 

Required Qualifications

• Significant low-voltage, telecommunications, structured cabling, or technology construction estimating experience
• Experience estimating large data center, mission-critical, or commercial infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of Division 27 telecommunications systems
• Extensive understanding of copper and fiber structured cabling, inside plant, and outside plant infrastructure
• Experience preparing quantity takeoffs, material lists, labor estimates, lump-sum bids, and change orders
• Strong working knowledge of  Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of BICSI standards and telecommunications design principles
• Ability to independently manage multiple complex estimates and competing deadlines
• Strong written, verbal, and client-facing communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• RCDD certification
• BICSI or other telecommunications industry certifications
• Experience estimating data center projects valued at $1 million or more
• Experience with multimillion-dollar structured cabling or mission-critical construction packages
• AutoCAD experience
• Experience supporting hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, or other large data center environments
• Previous field leadership, project management, superintendent, or operations experience
