Assembly Laborer

The Assembly Laborer reports to a supervisor and is responsible for assembling components according to product specifications. Essential functions include assembling components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies, resolving assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications, and notifying the supervisor to obtain additional resources. The role also involves keeping equipment operational by completing cleaning requirements, maintaining daily communication with the supervisor regarding potential issues, and maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. The Assembly Laborer ensures safety measures are followed to protect personnel and company property, contributes to team effort by accomplishing quality and timely results, and performs other duties as directed by the supervisor and management.

Competencies include a willingness to be flexible with the schedule to meet customer demands, physical stamina and perseverance to handle pressure well, proactiveness in avoiding mistakes, a positive viewpoint, and the ability to work well with others while pursuing a common goal. The position has no supervisory responsibilities upon hiring, however, potential direct reports are a possibility.

The physical demands of this job include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The work environment can be hot or cold depending on outside environmental conditions, and the work area is busy and noisy, making it challenging to concentrate. Peak times may require longer work periods to meet customer demands.

This is a full-time position with expected work hours of 40 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, 5 am to 3:30 pm, and Fridays may be required based on product demand. No travel is expected for this position.

Required education and experience include a high school diploma or GED, up to 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment, ability to identify that product meets quality and productivity standards, ability to use hand tools, and ability to focus on details to guarantee production of high quality products. Willingness and availability to work overtime to reach goals is also required.
