LeafSpring School is seeking dependable, flexible, and nurturing Substitute Teachers to support our South Charlotte schools.

This is a part-time, as-needed position . Substitute Teachers may be assigned to different LeafSpring locations based on staffing needs and will work with children ranging from infancy through school age .

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom coverage and support as assigned
• Maintain active supervision and ensure children's safety
• Follow classroom schedules, routines, and lesson plans
• Engage children in age-appropriate learning and play
• Assist with meals, diapering, toileting, rest periods, and transitions as appropriate
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom
• Follow health, sanitation, safety, licensing, and school requirements
• Use positive guidance and classroom management practices
• Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and leadership
• Complete required classroom documentation
• Maintain confidentiality
• Flex between classrooms, age groups, and school locations as needed

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED required
• Dependable, patient, nurturing, and flexible
• Genuine love for working with children
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Comfortable working with infants through school-age children
• Ability to adapt to different classrooms and teaching teams
• Reliable transportation to travel between South Charlotte locations
• Previous childcare, preschool, babysitting, camp, or youth experience preferred
• CPR/First Aid preferred or willingness to obtain
• Early Childhood Education coursework, CDA, or credentials are a plus

Schedule

This is a part-time substitute position with hours based on school staffing needs and employee availability.

Candidates should have availability during our operating hours of 7:00 AM–6:00 PM, Monday through Friday .

No evenings or weekends.

Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and bend, kneel, sit, stand, walk, and actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities with children.
