Farm Hand/Farm Assistant

Hello! We are an actively developing a regenerative farm in Sussex County, New Jersey, underway with our first full season of production. We're developing with a long-term vision. The farm includes a multi-acre vegetable program, a growing orchard of approximately 100 fruit trees, and livestock integration to support a regenerative system. We take pride in building something real. Our work is hands‑on, intentional, and rooted in long‑term stewardship of the land. You'll spend your days planting, harvesting, maintaining irrigation, caring for the orchard, assisting in animal care, and helping us continue building the farm as it grows. Opportunity This position will begin part‑time (approximately 2-3 days per week) and is expected to transition into a full‑time role as the farm grows. You'll play a key role in helping execute daily farm operations and supporting the team as the farm grows. This is a physically demanding role and will involve working outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the season. Responsibilities Supporting the development and production of the vegetable program Monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting irrigation systems Working alongside a small field crew Harvesting, washing, packing, and organizing produce Assisting with deliveries Supporting orchard care and seasonal farm projects Assisting with greenhouse operations as they come online Performing light tractor work (helpful but not required) Helping develop, improve, and refine farm systems over time Qualifications Enjoys physical work and being outdoors in all seasons Can regularly lift 50–75 pounds Notices when something needs to be done and takes initiative Can work independently without constant supervision Brings curiosity and a willingness to learn, while respecting established systems and approaches Works well with others but is equally comfortable spending long hours working alone Communicates well and can help lead a small crew Takes ownership and follows through Is excited by the opportunity to help build something meaningful from the ground up Position Details Location: Sussex County, NJ (within one hour preferred) Start Date: Hiring immediately Schedule: Part‑time to start, transitioning into full‑time Compensation: Starting at $18+/hour depending on experience Housing: Not provided Winter Season: Hours will likely decrease during winter months Perks: Access to farm‑grown products and continuous hands‑on learning #J-18808-Ljbffr FarmOn
