Patient Services Specialist

Primary job duties:
· Welcome patients and visitors and maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal, financial and insurance information.
· Check Patients in collecting copayments or account balances.
· Scheduling appointments for multiple providers.
· Verification of insurance.
· Comforts patients by anticipating anxieties, answering questions, and maintaining the reception area.
· Answer incoming calls, patient communication through the patient portal.
· Complete all tasks in non-clinical buckets in the EMR.
· Protect patient rights by insuring confidentiality of personal and financial information.
· Contribute to team effort with other duties as assigned.
· All other duties as assigned by their direct supervisor and/or Practice Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Knowledge of medical administrative and clerical procedures.
· Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications, Excel, Word, Athena Health is a big plus.
· Knowledge of medical terminology,
· Working knowledge of healthcare insurance.

Salary
· $19 - $22 per hour based on years’ experience
