Quality Control Coordinator

Position Summary The Quality Control coaching position requires hard work, dedication, and a passion for influencing the Rice Owls Football Program. The QC supports coaches by identifying play‑calling tendencies, providing data‑driven insights, and assisting with scouting and practice planning. Hiring Range Commensurate based on education and experience. Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree One or more years of related experience working with a high school, collegiate, or professional football team No substitutions for education or experience allowed. Skills Ability to prioritize work and multi‑task Excellent organizational skills Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects Written and verbal communication skills Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions Relevant subject matter knowledge Preferences Strong knowledge of football analytics, skills and strategies Knowledge of football video editing software programs Knowledge of NCAA legislation and Conference USA Bylaws, and compliance guidelines related to a football program Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a diverse community Strong organizational skills Demonstrated professional and effective public relations skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Ability to multi‑task and work well in a team setting or individual setting Ability to work in a high‑pressure environment Essential Functions Assists football coaches in identifying tendencies in play‑calling Identifies trends to better predict success in game situations Assists football coaches in scouting opponents, searching for tendencies and weaknesses to improve the team’s chances of winning Calculates advanced football metrics that will show the team how efficient it is operating in different situations Provides insight for coaching staff on areas of strengths and weaknesses to better tailor practices and workouts to focus on areas of greatest need Creates and maintains depth chart for the team Analyzes playing time for all players during games and charts effectiveness on a constant basis Assists the football coaches on any other team related duties as permissible by NCAA legislation including but not limited to: developing practice and workout plans, leading video sessions, attending staff meetings, and adhering to all NCAA and Conference USA bylaws Completes other duties as assigned Benefits Benefits are available upon request.
