Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time
Location: Onsite in Pixley, California
Compensation: $95,000–$120,000 annually, depending on experience

About the Opportunity

Key Staffing is recruiting an experienced Senior Accountant II for a well-established organization in Pixley, California. This position works closely with the Controller and Chief Financial Officer to support accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, audits, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting knowledge with careful analysis, accuracy, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant II will maintain accurate financial records, support month-end and year-end close, prepare consolidated financial statements, reconcile intercompany activity, and help strengthen internal controls and reporting processes.

This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who can manage detailed work independently while contributing to broader financial initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

General Accounting

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Prepare and post journal entries and process bank deposits.
• Manage prepaid expenses, accruals, and related amortization schedules.
• Support daily and weekly production accounting workflows.
• Maintain organized accounting records and ensure supporting documentation remains audit-ready.
• Prepare complex Excel workbooks and support various accounting functions.
• Complete ad hoc analyses, special projects, and other accounting assignments as needed.

Financial Close and Reporting

• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Ensure reconciliations and consolidations are accurate and completed on time.
• Prepare consolidated income statements, balance sheets, statements of cash flows, and statements of equity in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Reconcile intercompany transactions and prepare elimination entries across multiple entities.
• Produce internal management reports, cost-center analyses, and budget-to-actual variance reports.

Audit and Compliance

• Prepare schedules, supporting documentation, and other materials for internal and external audits.
• Support compliance with internal controls and recommend practical improvements.
• Conduct technical accounting research.
• Assist with implementing new accounting standards.

Process Improvement and Collaboration

• Partner with operations, land, and engineering teams to obtain complete and accurate reporting information.
• Improve efficiency through workflow automation, reporting enhancements, and stronger internal controls.
• Develop process maps and contribute to a more effective financial reporting framework.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Five to ten years of progressive accounting experience in a dynamic work environment.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial statements, and month-end close procedures.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
• Experience using accounting or enterprise resource planning systems.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant designation or Master of Business Administration degree.
• Experience with consolidated financial reporting and intercompany reconciliations.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements and internal-control frameworks.
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics GP or NetSuite.
• Experience improving accounting workflows, reporting processes, or automation.
