POSITION: Mental Health Professional

SALARY: $30.88 to $41.73, per hour DOE

REPORTS TO: Dean of Students

LOCATION: PSIS, Omak, WA


Basic Functions: This is a Non-Exempt position. Incumbent is responsible for providing services related to the delivery of mental health care assigned to clients at PSIS and will provide consultation, psychoeducation, and support services to school staff to ensure the overall mental health goals of PSIS.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training:

• Requires a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or Social Work from an accredited college or university.
• Requires applicant to be licensed by the Washington State Department of Health as an Independent Clinical Social Worker without restrictions, or if licensed in a state other than Washington, MUST obtain Washington State Licensure with same guidelines as above within 90-day probationary period.
• Requires a Valid Washington State Driver's license and to be eligible for the Tribe's vehicle insurance.
• Requires verification of negative TB test or x-ray with negative results prior to employment.
• Applicants MUST provide copies of diplomas, transcripts, licensure or registrations that pertain to the position applying for with application by the closing date.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Requires strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Requires the ability to maintain strict confidentiality standards due to the high amount of records, materials, and communications concerning students, or other areas that may impact the operation of the program.
• Requires the ability to work flexible hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as the work dictates.
• Requires ability to provide direct mental health services to students, predominantly Residential students.
• Requires the ability to facilitate individual and group therapy as well as crisis interventions to all student body.
• Requires ability to provide services on-site within the residential and school facilities as well as off-site to include the student's home support network.
• Requires ability to build partnerships with parents, guardians, social workers, and case managers to ensure student's best progress on a regular basis.
• Requires the ability to provide education, awareness, and prevention services to students, faculty, and staff to include anti-bullying, harassment, anger and stress management, self esteem, grief, risky behaviors, depression, anxiety, all forms of abuse, drug, and alcohol prevention and treatment.
• Requires ability to provide consultation for school staff regarding mental health issues including classroom and residential observation and appropriate service determination.
• Requires ability to attend regularly scheduled staff and committee meetings at residential as well as at school.
• Requires ability to participate as an active member in the Student Services Team and other teams as designated by the Superintendent.
• Requires ability to serve as a liaison to and for tribal and community resources, including next steps involving short term and/or long term therapy, intervention, and advocacy.
• Requires ability to provide required reports to CFS, legal system (to include Tribal Police), and other agencies as needed.

Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver's license and be eligible for the Tribes' Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
