Job Title: Parts Stock Room Operator 1st Shift

Schedule and Pay
Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Hours: 6:50 AM 2:50 PM
Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour

Job Description
The Parts Stock Room Operator is responsible for efficiently managing and controlling the parts stock room on 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:50 AM to 2:50 PM. Under the supervision of the Finished Stores Supervisor, the operator ensures the availability and proper management of various parts, including rough castings, semi-finished parts, finished parts, purchased parts, and supplies. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to read blueprints and bills of materials.

Detailed Duties
1.Perform tasks typically assigned to stock room helpers.
2.Maintain control of storage areas for rough, semi-finished, and finished parts.
3.Record parts storage and maintain perpetual inventory records using stock card bins.
4.Identify and requisition shortages as needed for orders or to maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels. All requisitions must be cleared through the Production Control Department.
5.Direct and train stock room helpers in the proper handling of parts, ensuring adherence to procedures established by the Production Control Department.
6.Maintain good housekeeping practices in the stock room by shelving parts promptly and keeping aisles clean to facilitate the efficient movement of parts.
7.Complete time tickets accurately.
8.Immediately report workplace hazards and all injuries, regardless of severity, to the supervisor.
9.Participate in health and safety training.
10.Exercise the authority to stop processes or equipment if deemed unsafe.
11.Address unsafe behaviors exhibited by employees, contractors, or visitors.
12.Participate in incident investigations and contribute to the development of corrective and preventive actions.

Special Qualifications
Ability to read blueprints and bills of materials.
Proficiency in maintaining control of parts or castings according to shop order requirements or stock bin demands.
Considerable knowledge of part names, styles, and sizes.
