Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 10-bed ICU setting at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio with no nurse aides on unit
• Manage and titrate a variety of drips including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, analgesics, metabolic, and specialized infusions
• Care for patients presenting with common ICU diagnoses including abdominal pain, chest pain, dyspnea, headache, injury, extremity pain, and insulin drip management
• Collaborate with in-house hospitalist/intensivist and respiratory therapy staff available 24/7; work alongside tele techs monitoring GE telemetry systems
• Participate in self-scheduling and block scheduling; expected to fulfill a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule and meet holiday requirements as determined by unit needs
• Float as needed to other acuity levels including PCU/Stepdown and Med-Surg Telemetry; may float within Zone 4 as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Kansas or compact license eligibility
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Must be available and present in-state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are conducted remotely
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted
• Seasoned ICU experience required; must be comfortable functioning independently in a high-acuity environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience titrating vasopressors, inotropes, and specialized drips in a critical care setting
• Familiarity with respiratory therapy equipment including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems
• Experience working in a unit undergoing expansion or reopening, with the ability to adapt to evolving workflows
