DSPs at ILC provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a variety of settings to ensure they have a meaningful life. Some physical work examples could be but are not limited to: Intervening in an aggressive situation and/or physically demanding responsibilities Supporting with lifting individuals to and from wheelchairs Supporting a person to and from a shower Using a gait belt in a safe and dignified way Providing transportation for the people we support is an essential function of the DSP position. ILC requires all DSPs to have a reliable vehicle at every shift.
