Summary The Field Service Technician will repair, fabricate, install and remove a variety of centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, and reciprocating pumps as well as other related rotating equipment, both in-shop and in the field; also, system troubleshooting, field alignment and equipment start-up, maintain company vehicles and shop equipment, accurately and professionally complete all field tickets and job reports. Responsibilities All brands of centrifugal pumps Positive displacement pumps Gear pumps Diaphragm pumps H-Pumps API pumps Repair, fabricate, install, remove and maintain a variety of pumps and related rotating equipment in-shop and on field sites. Diagnose and troubleshoot pump and equipment problems, including field alignment and equipment start‑up. Maintain company vehicles and shop equipment ensuring they are in safe working condition. Accurately and professionally complete all field tickets and job reports within the allotted time. Travel overnight as required, often for a significant number of days per year. Use vibration and alignment tools and perform field balancing on fans and motors. Maintain professional appearance and proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Be available for after‑hours field service when needed. Ensure a safe working environment, help others succeed, and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications 3‑5 years pump experience Experience with rotating equipment repair Acceptable driving record required according to company guidelines Willing to work off‑site as well as in the shop Willing to travel overnight for a significant number of days during the year Experience with vibration and alignment tools Field balancing experience on fans and motors Own hand tools Good communication skills, professional appearance and technical aptitude Responsible for completing all tasks from installation, startup, scheduled maintenance, functional & performance testing, training, project close‑out, and warranty transition Check all equipment after installation and prior to start‑up of pumps and associated equipment within the allotted time and in a professional manner Get service tickets signed by appropriate company representative before leaving location Work with customers to understand equipment issues, troubleshoot and diagnose root‑cause problems, and arrange necessary parts and service to resolve issues Communicate relevant customer comments, inquiries, questions or concerns to appropriate DXP personnel Be familiar and knowledgeable on all DXP products Represent DXP positively on location by having proper PPE and a professional appearance Available for after‑hours field service when needed Ensure a safe working environment, help others succeed, and perform other duties as assigned Additional Information Pay: $70,000 - $85,000/yr, DOE Physical Demand: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
