Medical ReceptionistA busy healthcare clinic is seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to support front desk operations, patient registration, insurance verification, payment collection, and overall patient flow. This role is ideal for someone with strong customer service skills, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced medical office environment.Key ResponsibilitiesGreet patients and provide a friendly, professional first impressionCheck patients in and out accurately and efficientlyProvide registration forms and collect required patient documentationObtain and scan copies of insurance cards, identification, and other required documentsRegister new patients and update existing patient recordsVerify insurance information accurately and in a timely mannerCollect patient payments, copays, balances, and other required feesProcess cash, check, and credit card paymentsAssist with billing questions, payment issues, and basic account inquiriesMaintain patient flow and communicate wait times or updates as neededAnswer phones with a clear, professional, and courteous mannerRespond promptly to patient needs and provide excellent customer serviceAssist patients with follow-up appointments and medical documentation requestsBalance daily patient charges against system reportsComplete opening and closing procedures, including preparing paperwork and submitting required reportsFollow cash control procedures and help secure financial assetsMaintain complete, accurate, and confidential patient recordsSupport front office operations and perform other administrative duties as assignedFollow clinic policies, HIPAA requirements, and patient privacy standardsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredActive HIPAA compliance credential / training requiredBasic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office or similar programsStrong attention to detail and accuracyPositive customer service skills and a patient-focused attitudeProfessional appearance and demeanorClear and articulate phone communication skillsAbility to stay organized while managing multiple tasksAbility to handle confidential patient and billing information with discretionPreferred QualificationsPrevious medical receptionist, medical front desk, patient registration, or medical clerical experienceExperience verifying insurance and collecting patient paymentsFamiliarity with electronic medical records, scheduling systems, or practice management softwareExperience working in urgent care, primary care, occupational medicine, or a walk-in clinic settingBasic understanding of medical office workflows, patient records, and billing processes
