Media Engineer

OverviewOur client is seeking a Media Engineer to support and maintain editing, streaming, graphics, and production technology environments used for daily broadcast and digital content delivery. This role will support critical media workflows across live broadcasts, streaming platforms, VOD distribution, and post-production operations.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in broadcast technology, media engineering, or production support who is looking to grow their experience with cutting-edge IP video and media infrastructure technologies.ResponsibilitiesBuild, maintain, and support post-production systems and facilitiesSupport Evertz Magnum routing systems and SMPTE ST 2110 workflowsMaintain and troubleshoot live broadcast, streaming, VOD, and radio workflowsAssist with technology upgrades, deployments, and infrastructure projectsDevelop workflow improvements and technical solutions for operational teamsPartner with vendors during troubleshooting and implementation effortsCreate technical documentation, user guides, and support materialsProduce technical diagrams and workflow documentationSupport content acquisition, production, and distribution environmentsRequired SkillsExperience supporting broadcast, media, production, or streaming environmentsLinux administration experienceWindows and Windows Server support experienceVMware or VMware ESXi experienceKnowledge of networking concepts including IP addressing, VLANs, and routingExperience supporting media workflows, digital content, or video production technologiesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsPreferred SkillsSMPTE ST 2110 experienceEvertz Magnum experienceAvid Media Composer, Nexis, MediaCentral, or Interplay experienceAdobe Creative Cloud troubleshooting and supportAWS and/or Azure exposureVMware Horizon or VDI experienceShared storage and asset management systemsExperience supporting streaming and VOD platformsKnowledge of workflow automation tools such as Vantage, BPM, or Pulse ITExperience creating technical documentation and workflow diagramsPreferred backgroundBroadcast EngineeringMedia EngineeringProduction Technology SupportLive Production OperationsVideo Streaming InfrastructureDigital Media TechnologyEducationTechnical certification, vocational training, or degree in Engineering, Computer Technology, Electronic Technology, Broadcast Technology, or a related field preferred.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of New York, NY.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $54.00 - $64.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
