Senior Research Administrator

The Division of Experimental Medicine, within the Department of Medicine, is seeking a collaborative, detail-oriented Senior Research Administrator to support its research enterprise.

In this role, you'll provide full pre- and post-award research administration for faculty in the division. Working closely with the Department Chair, CAO, CFO, and other leaders, you'll manage a diverse portfolio of intra- and extramurally funded awards, from proposal development and award management to financial oversight, sponsor reporting, and compliance monitoring.

You'll support nearly a dozen investigators with active NIH F-, K-, and R-series grants and private foundation funding. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, juggles competing priorities with ease, and is passionate about advancing biomedical research through excellent research administration.

Annual range: $74,445.00-$152,460.00

• Bachelo'rs degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate information in a timely, professional manner
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with various stakeholders
• Ability to set priorities and complete ongoing tasks with competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions, to meet programmatic and financial needs
• Close attention to detail in a fast-paced, fluctuating workload environment
• Organizational skills to create and maintain administrative and financial files effectively
• Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft suite software, especially Excel
• Strong writing skills in a variety of styles to draft persuasive text for diverse audiences while ensuring adherence to funding sponsor guidelines
• Demonstrated knowledge of effective grant funding processes, procedures, and techniques
• Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting
• Demonstrated ability to communicate medical, policy, and administrative information in English
• Minimum 5 years of research administration experience

• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize job functions, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously across multiple proposal submission systems
• Experience preparing, managing, and projecting budgets
• Mathematical skills for preparing complex calculations and forecasts and identifying and resolving complicated financial scenarios
• Knowledge of and experience working with a variety of external sponsors, including federal and state agencies, private foundations, and industry sponsors
